Weekend Etsy Pick – Little Bits Of Recycled Beauty

I’ve always wanted to make my own jewelry. I can see my designs in my minds eye, sometimes I even wake up with a specific necklace or ring in my vision. But, along with my other wish-list-hobbies, jewelry making simply hasn’t made it into my real world yet. So, for now I will count on the talents of amazing artisans around the world who so elegantly combine the world of recycled materials and jewelry in an incredible fashion.

This weekend’s Etsy picks are little tokens of beauty that have been tooled using some or all recycled materials. One of the best ways to go green this year is to add beautiful accessories to your existing wardrobe to dress it up in funky new ways. Here are some sweet designs that I’ve found on Etsy.com, I hope you find your own “bits-of-recycled-beauty“:

I’ll admit I’m a sucker for rings. I could most definitely wear a different ring each day of the week (besides my wedding band).

I am especially excited to find unique pieces in fabulous colors that are made from recycled gold, silver and other metals. This means that the artisan is choosing to use materials that have already lived a life as something else and instead of being thrown away will now get to transform into a beautiful piece of eco-jewelry. That is exactly what PearlEverlasting of Etsy.com has done.

The ring above is composed entirely of recycled precious metal (silver and gold.) Check out the entire shop here.

Most wine, beer and vodka bottles (hopefully) get recycled and turned into other glassy type things. One artisan named UrbanArtifaks of Etsy.com discovered a way to give new life to old bottles by turning them into funky fashion accessories.

The one-of-a-kind pendant featured above was made from pieces  of the Grey Goose Citron bottle. Each pendants are made using lead-free, silver bearing solder and are sonically cleaned when finished.

Check out the entire collection here.

This is one of my favorite pieces I’ve seen on Etsy.com. There is just something classically beautiful about adding a sparkly, unique brooch to a scarf, jacket or dress. This piece shown above has been lovingly redesigned to give it new life.

Artisan EcoBlingCouture has taken this vintage piece and added snow white Lucite stones and rhinestones in a elegant  design that will pop on any outfit. Check  out the entire amazing collection here.

Too many gorgeous things on Etsy! I don’t dare go there when I’m at the office or I’ll never get any work done!
