The Nature of Beauty, LTD was founded by clinical psychologist, women’s health advocate, and beauty product junkie, Dr. Terri Bly. For years, Bly had been sharing the latest in health research with her patients and clients. In 2008, she made the decision to combine her passions – mental health, physical health, advocacy for women, and business – into one entity: The Nature of Beauty.
The Nature of Beauty offers an unprecedented combination of accessible information about beauty products and a massive collection of products to choose from. A few unique features you won’t find anywhere else:
Our Buyers Guide
No other website provides a comprehensive step-by-step makeover section showing customers which products to use and how to apply them. We brought in NYC celebrity makeup artist Jessa Blades, who works exclusively with natural cosmetics, to share her knowledge and expertise while creating four beautiful yet achievable looks. We also offer tools for selecting the best lipstick, eye shadow, foundation, and more. We’re currently creating a product-matching guide, which will allow customers to look up the commercial products and shades they are currently using, and find the comparable brand and shade from our store.
Our Cosmetics Selection
No other website or brick-and-mortar store offers the extensive selection of natural and organic cosmetics you will find at The Nature of Beauty. We carry eight lines of the best natural makeup brands on the market, including rms beauty, Jane Iredale, Couleur Caramel, and Revolution Organics. To find the top brands, we employ the brilliance of Jessa Blades and Christy Coleman, who help us identify the best of what is out there. We are also growing our list of top makeup artists who are working with our products, including Béké Beau and Paige Padgett, with our Nature of Beauty makeup artist program.
Our Blog
While many online retail sites have a blog, ours is unique in that we do not limit it to special offers and new product announcements. The Nature of Beauty blog offers extensive product reviews, tips, opinions, and updates on research, policies, and breaking news regarding beauty products and your health.
Our Store
Few online green beauty sites are connected to a brick and mortar store. This is significant because it is through our shop on Grand Avenue in St. Paul that we have been able to develop an expertise with our products that we would not have without daily customer interactions. Bly provides makeovers and color consultations daily, and offers private events to groups of women interested in exploring the world of green beauty. We are able to see what is working, what isn’t, and which shades and brands work best on which skin shades and types.
More importantly, we answer customer questions day in and day out, requiring us to become intimately familiar with each brand, each product, and each ingredient so that we can answer every one of our customers’ questions. This translates to our website in the form of the Buyers’ Guide, tips on the product pages, blog entries, and our ability to answer questions customers ask by phone or email.
