Interview With The Beauty Divas Of Nvey Eco Organic Makeup

org_lip_lustre_img.jpgI had the pleasure of speaking with Jane Dirr – Nvey – President/CEO US Division of Nvey Eco and Sarah Cherot – VP Sales & Marketing (partner). Here is what I found out about this certified organic beauty company from way down under.

In The Beginning

It’s fair to say that the founder of NVEY ECO, Rohan Widdison, knows a thing or two about makeup. His mother founded the acclaimed Helene Abicair Beauty Therapy College in Melbourne in 1958 and from a young age Widdison quickly grew to understand and appreciate the importance of the beauty industry. While studying law, arts, and education in Australia and Europe, Widdison became actively involved at the Helene Abicair College as Creative Director. His deepened interest and belief in high quality, innovative makeup products led to the development of the NVEY ECO product line.

With over 20 years experience in senior management and sales/marketing positions, Jane Dirr brings her unsurpassed experience and understanding of consumers to NVEY ECO. Prior to the start-up of NVEY ECO, Dirr was co-owner and President of Specialty Films and Associates, Inc. With a primary focus on packaging for the global cosmetic markets, Dirr comes to NVEY well-equipped to handle the launch of the color cosmetic brand in the U.S. Despite an over-saturated U.S. makeup market filled with me too companies, Dirr has successfully positioned NVEY ECO as one of the industry’s most important players.

The Question And The Answers

Elena: What would your friends/other people be surprised to learn about you?

Sarah: That I am an accomplished “baker” of wonderful cakes and cupcakes.
Jane: That I try my best at offshore fishing and absolutely love to be out at sea.
Elena: What organic beauty/fashion products do you use & recommend?

Sarah: Vada Pure & Natural – actually works + doesn’t dry out the skin – very easy to use
Fashion would have to be ecoSkin clothing – wears & feels amazing + can go dressy or casual depending upon accessories + lots of options to choose from

Jane: Farmaesthetics – skin and body care products, absolutely love Brenda Brock the founder and her “story”
Linda Loudermilk – although a bit “pricey”, pieces are extremely creative

Elena: Who designs the line and what is the inspiration for the designs?

Sarah: The fashion industry as a whole is an inspiration for many of our color palettes – our brand definitely has many color selections, especially in the lipstick, eye shadow, and lip lustres (our version of lip gloss)….you can really go for a natural look or glam it up because we offer so many options! We like to show our customers that you can have a certified organic line, but you don’t have to sacrifice your color selections – you can have your natural earth tones, but still have your vibrant shades of pinks, blues, purples, turquoise, etc…..the possibilities are endless!

Jane: Only additional comment to Sarah’s would be that NVEY ECO is very in-tune with the needs and desires of our customers – we listen to what they are looking for and really do respond. Example, when we first launched in Nashville, Tennessee we did not have a true red lipstick – big mistake in that market! So, we approached our product development group in Australia and within 90 days we had a gorgeous new red lipstick! NVEY ECO is flexible and willing to listen to what the markets are looking for and whenever possible, will respond to the client’s needs.
